Our assignment at birth is to experience life. God did not give us a blueprint and specific instructions on what to do after birth. He gave us life and wants us to enjoy fully His beautiful creations, be fruitful, and be happy. According to Danish philosopher Soren Kierkegaard, “Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.” There were no pre-conditions attached to our birth. God never said we would only be born if we promised to be a doctor when we grow up or be a kind and generous person when we reach the age of reason. Our generous and loving God gave us life as a gift, and our obligation is to experience and enjoy it. In Ecclesiastes 5:19 (NIV), King Solomon said, "Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil – this is a gift of God." In 1 Timothy 6:17 (NIV), St. Paul said, "… to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment."
