Happiness is not an entity outside of us that we pursue. It cannot be manufactured based on a specific formula or algorithm. We cannot attain it by manipulating our environment to set the optimal conditions; our outlook is what needs to change. We were all given the seed of happiness at birth, formulated with molecules of love programmed to seek God’s light. It is up to us to nurture and develop it by allowing our life experiences to chisel us and the passage of time to make it ripe and manifest fully. As the love in us grows, it becomes the feeling we call happiness.
