Life can be a continuum of experiences that are neither good nor bad if you avoid labeling them as such. It is just what it is: an unfolding series of events for you to undergo, make something out of, do something about, and become something because of. You accept and interact with your circumstances and let them lead you to where you are destined to be and become the person you are meant to be. Don’t label what you encounter as “good” or “bad” to avoid limiting their potential for enhancing your life and stimulating growth. Categorizing experiences as either “good” or “bad” may result in disappointments brought about by unwillingness to accept change and the normal fluctuations of life, complacency while enjoying the comfort of the good times, and discouragement from the seeming permanence of what we consider difficult.
By avoiding labels, you can experience reality without causing unnecessary suffering; labels often inaccurately represent the facts you seek to describe. You avoid giving up opportunities to love and be happy because you can approach each experience with an open mind, free from assumptions or judgments. Allowing yourself to experience the entire spectrum of human emotions without reducing them to simplistic categories adds richness and depth to your life. Accept reality as it is, and don’t label it.
